The Boys is a dark satirical superhero series created by Eric Kripke, based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Set in a world where superheroes are real and idolized as celebrities, the show reveals the corruption and abuse of power behind their glamorous public image. The world’s most powerful heroes, known as The Seven, are managed by the mega-corporation Vought International, which exploits them for profit and political influence.
The story follows Hughie Campbell, an ordinary man whose girlfriend is brutally killed by a reckless speedster hero. Seeking justice, he joins Billy Butcher, a ruthless vigilante who despises “supes.” Together with their ragtag team—Frenchie, Mother’s Milk, and Kimiko—they form “The Boys,” determined to expose Vought and fight back against corrupt heroes.
Parallel to this, Starlight (Annie January), a young and idealistic hero, joins The Seven but quickly discovers the dark reality of their world. Her journey intertwines with Hughie’s as both struggle with morality, truth, and survival.
Mixing action, gore, and satire, The Boys critiques celebrity culture, corporate greed, and unchecked power, while delivering shocking twists, brutal violence, and complex characters.
