47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019) is a survival horror film that follows four teenage girls who venture into an underwater cave system in the Amazon jungle. The story begins with the girls, Mia, Sasha, Alexa, and Nicole, who are on a vacation with their families. Mia and her stepsister Sasha aren’t close, but they are pushed into a bonding experience when Sasha invites Mia to explore an ancient underwater Mayan city.

The adventure takes a terrifying turn when their diving excursion goes awry. As they venture deeper into the cave, a series of unfortunate events leads to the girls getting trapped inside the flooded ruins. To make matters worse, they discover that they are not alone — a group of deadly great white sharks has taken residence in the caves, and the girls must find a way to escape.
The tension heightens as the girls try to make their way through the dark, labyrinthine tunnels, running out of air and struggling to stay alive. The film focuses on their struggle for survival, with each girl facing their own fears, dealing with limited resources, and trying to outwit the relentless sharks.
As the story progresses, the stakes grow higher, and the girls must use their wits, courage, and teamwork to survive the deadly environment. With the oxygen running out and the sharks closing in, the group must find an escape route before they become the next victims.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged combines underwater terror with emotional tension, exploring themes of fear, survival, and the strength of human resilience when faced with life-threatening circumstances.
