Oil company inspector Paul Sturges takes his wife Ines and their two children on what he believes will be a routine family trip to the coast of Baja, Mexico. His assignment is to check on an offshore oil rig that his company operates in the region. However, upon arrival, the family finds the nearby town in a state of near-abandonment. The once-lively village is plagued by poverty, anger, and whispers of a curse connected to the sea.

Ignoring the villagers’ warnings, Paul boards the isolated rig with his family. What begins as a simple inspection quickly turns into a nightmare. The platform is decaying, with only a few surviving workers left behind. They reveal that the rig has been targeted by something far worse than mechanical failure—a monstrous creature from local legend known as the Black Demon. Said to be a massive, ancient megalodon shark, the beast is believed to be unleashed as divine retribution against those who exploit the ocean’s resources.
When the Black Demon attacks, Paul and his family become trapped on the crumbling rig, cut off from the mainland and surrounded by endless water. With the structure collapsing and the shark circling relentlessly, they must fight for survival. Paul soon realizes that his company’s greed and negligence have played a role in awakening the creature. To protect his family and the remaining workers, he must confront both the deadly predator and the consequences of his own actions.
Blending creature-feature thrills with themes of environmental reckoning, The Black Demon delivers suspense, survival, and mythic terror.
